I-DISC will support a research group to host a team building, seminar or workshop event to foster collaboration for future grant proposal development aligned to I-DISC's mission to promote interdisciplinary collaborative research in areas related to data, intelligent systems, and computation. Additional support is available to invite an external proposal consultant to be part of the event.

I-DISC will support their faculty members through funding and administrative help, to organize and host seminars, meetings and workshops. The main purpose of these activities is to bring together I-DISC researchers from different disciplines to explore interdisciplinary opportunities; to explore collaborations within the university or with external partners; and to provide networking opportunities for I-DISC faculty members to connect with invited experts and peers.

We organized an Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Virtual Reality (AR) for 21st Century Healthcare & Education Workshop sponsored by I-DISC on Sept 15th, 2023. The aim of this workshop was to bring together academics, students and industry researchers to exchange and share their experiences and research results on all aspects of using AI & VR technologies for healthcare and education. We invited external speakers working on research topics that are of interest to Lehigh faculty working in this area and can be useful external collaborators to Lehigh faculty as well as representatives from funding agencies such as NSF/NIH, Institute of educational science who typically fund relevant research projects in this area. We also invited Lehigh faculty doing research in this area to present their research
